Hello!

If we haven’t met yet, my name is Eli Winter. I am currently finishing my sophomore year at Pittsburg State University, Go Rillas! During my time at Pitt State, I spend most of my time studying and serving at the Newman Center, where our mission is to make Christ known on campus.

Through serving on the Newman Center leadership board, I began to feel a strong calling to reach those who often feel unseen or marginalized. During my first year of college, I was warmly welcomed into the Newman Center community, where I encountered Christ in a deep and personal way. That experience transformed my life, and I soon found myself desiring the same encounter for every student on campus, especially those who feel left out or alone.

Over this past year, I sensed God inviting me to step outside my comfort zone and encounter those experiencing what I have come to recognize as the poverty of loneliness. This calling led me to Christ in the City, an organization dedicated to combating loneliness and restoring dignity to those living on the margins. Because of this, I have chosen to spend my summer serving as a missionary with Christ in the City in Denver.

I know this summer will be challenging, stretching, and deeply formative, but I am filled with excitement and trust in what God has in store. I feel strongly called to serve those who are forgotten and overlooked, meeting each person with compassion, friendship, and the dignity they deserve.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page and for considering supporting this mission. At this moment in my life, I have the opportunity to serve in a very concrete way, but I cannot do it alone. I am seeking partners who feel called to support this mission financially, helping cover the basic costs of living and serving in Denver this summer.
