Hello! Thank you for visitng my fundraising page for my summer with Christ in the City in Philadelphia. This summer, I will be spending 9 weeks serving and loving the poor of Philadelphia with my team of fellow summer of service missionaries, striving with them to model the love and mercy of Christ towards the most vulnerable. For the past two years, I have spent my summers with LifeTeen, working to lead teenagers closer to Christ, but also serving the poor in the communities surrounding our campsites for Camp Restore. This part of my time with LifeTeen ended up being an unexpected treasure, a place of deep encounter for me with human dignity and the love of God, and a source of joy, life, and fulfillment. These limited encounters created a hunger in me to give more of myself over to those in need, to more deeply follow in Christ's footsteps in loving the poor, and to act out what He has done for me in coming to me in generosity where I am in my deepest poverty, Christ in the City has provided an opportunity for me to do so. Over the 9 weeks I will spend in Philadelphia, I will contribute to meeting the material, emotional, and spiritual needs of the poor most especially by forming relationships of friendship and trust, providing material necessities, and striving to reveal the love of God for each of them. Your support will make all of these things possible. By donating to my fundraising campaign, you will directly contribute to the alleviation of the physical and emotional suffering of the homeless. You will allow me to join Christ in the City in their life-changing, dignity-affirming work. You will be a part of reminding someone that they are valued, loved, and important, and answering Christ's call to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, and visit the stranger.
